Dua Lipa, co-host of the exceptional Met Gala evening, has once again upped her fashion game.

Dua Lipa stepped into her co-host role perfectly on Monday, May 1, 2023, as the Met Gala playing tribute to Karl Lagerfeld took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. As is the case every year, it brought together a constellation of star guests for a magnificent evening dedicated to fashion. For this 2023 edition, the annual event celebrated the ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ exhibition dedicated to the career of the ingenious designer.

For her second Met Gala, Dua Lipa opted for an archival Chanel design.
This is Dua Lipa’s second time Met Gala. For her first appearance in 2019, the pop star chose a psychedelic Versace look in line with that year’s theme of Camp. Lipa, who co-hosted this 2023 edition, opted for a white and black tweed Chanel ballgown, the same design that Claudia Schiffer wore for the house’s fall 1992 couture collection. To enhance this ultra-chic vintage silhouette, which pays homage to the work of Karl Lagerfeld, she wore one of the new legendary Tiffany & Co diamonds set into a necklace, which noded to the iconic Yellow Diamond with its almost identical cushion cut. Discovered in 1977 and worn by Mary Whitehouse, Audrey Hepburn, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, the Yellow Diamond is, now more than ever, a part of jewelry history. With this tribute to this legendary piece, Dua Lipa reaffirms her status as a fashion icon.
